August 9th, 2010 at 10:56 am[...] The Heart of the Matter – Doral 235 Cockpit Doral Elite boats are an important part of that company’s stable of fine boats. The Elites are small cuddys and bow riders that are superbly designed with the usual meticulous craftsmanship that is incorporated in all Doral boats. The cockpit is the heart and brains of a powerboat. In the Elite it is deep and snug, with a curved walk thru safety glass windshield and stainless steel windshield post separation door. The steering system is extra strong, and the uncluttered dashboard is elegant steel and fiberglass, with a sporty throttle and steering wheel. The seats are often teak trimmed and have the look of leather, and the front seat pushes back so that the vessel can be driven standing or sitting. With its deep cockpit and 20-degree dead rise hull, the 235 is well suited for operation on the water. It’s rattle-free on rough seas thanks to the use of composite laminates and extensive plexus bonding. There’s ample seating on the wraparound bench in the cockpit, along with easy dock access via a dropped transom walkthrough. The cozy forward cabin is very well appointed, and you will find the following standard fittings: – * U-shaped cockpit seating with twin bow loungers * Deluxe wood steering wheel * Clarion AM/FM CD water proof sound system And you will probably find several options such as cabriolet style upholstery finish, Prestige Series Option with high gloss wood table in cockpit floors inserts, and bucket seat roll bar options. Other options include a huge cockpit ski locker, U shaped cockpit seat and 316 stainless steel marine hardware and oversized cleats, stainless steel latches and gas cylinder, and stainless steel telescopic aft swim ladder . You can also customize your 235 with wood insertions in the bow and main cockpit, captain seat roll bars and deluxe sound system additions. The main cockpit is usually fully fiber-glassed and self draining, with diamond textured antiskid, water sealed door storage, an ergonomically designed U shaped cockpit seat, twin adjustable swivel bucket seats with booster stainless steel handles. There is a large amount of below seat storage (fiberglass finish), cockpit courtesy lights and an anchor locker with cleat.
